The tourist product The Pilica River Valley – we go downstream covers a 43.9 km long section of the Pilica River located in the Tomaszów County (Lodz Province). In the Tomaszów County, the Pilica flows through 4 communes: the Tomaszów Mazowiecki Commune, the City of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, the Inowłódz Commune and the Rzeczyca Commune, which divide it into 4 sections. It is a great place to start your adventure with canoeing, and it is possible to cover the entire distance from Smardzewice to Grotowice in a day.

However, it is worth planning a trip at least for the weekend in order to visit the vicinity of Pilica not only by canoe. Everyone will find here something that caters to their interests! History enthusiasts will be able to admire numerous monuments while families with children will be able to take advantage of various attractions. Numerous trails await fans of hiking and cycling. The surrounding meadows and fields will not only give you a respite while hiking, but also allow you to observe and admire the local flora and fauna. Down the Smardzewice trail

An easy section, perfect for beginner kayakers. It takes about 3 hours. Along the way, there are numerous attractions, including the Sulejów Reservoir and Sulejów Landscape Park.

On the Pilica through Tomaszów Mazowiecki

Depending on the option chosen, the trip may take from approx. 30 minutes to approx. 2.5 hours. The city has a lot to offer to tourists, so it is worth getting off the kayak and visiting the Count Ostrowski’s Museum or the Pilica Open-Air Museum.
